Gettin' Ready!

So being a vegan athlete is not really that big of a deal. A lot of the worlds top athlethes are. Still I get so many questions about how I manage to work out hard not eating any meat or dairy. Le sigh!

Today I thught I'd share my pre-practice routine to keep me perky and energized without being to heavy in my belly!

I tend to always make a nice, tall smoothie before practice. Today I made one with fruits and berries (one orange, one apple, some pieces of frozen mango, some frozen watermelon, a frozen berry mix with gojiberries & blueberries & stuff, some juice, some hemp milk, a tablespoon each of; raw wheatgrass powder, raw barley grass powder, raw spirulina powder and a teaspoon of maca powder). I tend so save a small glass of smoothie and bring it to practice to gulp down right after stretching as well. 

I also try to eat some fruit and raw veggies and some nuts. Today we had avocados so I skipped the nuts since the 'cado gives me plenty of good fats and oils. I should mention that I had a HUGE lunch today (which is also one of my practice-day routines).
